About the Artist

Growing up in Burlington, New Jersey, the foundations for Cyndy's artwork were laid at an early age with oil painting classes on Saturday mornings. Her high school art teacher recognized that she possessed a keen sense of color and perspective and helped her further develop artistically through pre-college classes at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia and Otis Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles.

Upon graduation, Cyndy attended the Savannah College of Art and Design where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. Following college, she worked as a graphic designer for several years while continuing to create paintings on commission. As her commissioned work increased, Cyndy stepped away from graphic design and focused her attention on her artwork, her family, and helping other artists through leadership roles in local art organizations.

The Augusta area has provided many opportunities for Cyndy to get involved in the arts community.  From 2008 to 2011, she served as president of the Artists’ Guild of Columbia County and continues as a member displaying her artwork at various Guild shows. She served on the Columbia County Arts Board of Directors from 2009 to 2014, serving as president from 2013 to 2014 and as Events Coordinator from 2009 to 2014. These positions provided her with the opportunity to work alongside a number of artists and arts organizations in the CSRA while developing Art After Dark and Art in the Park to promote a wide variety of art forms and artists to the community. In 2009, she began teaching with the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art in Augusta where she assisted students in honing their talents and exploring new media. The following year, Cyndy was selected as one of six artists who completed murals for The Art Factory’s Art on the Wall Phase II project done in conjunction with the Augusta Water Works. Her rendering of a scenic river with an inviting dock and two empty rocking chairs is prominently displayed at the corner of Wrightsboro Road and Highland Avenue.

Cyndy lives with her husband in Martinez, GA, and has been privileged to display her art work in many venues throughout the greater Augusta area. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Fine Art at Georgia Southern University and continues to paint do commissioned work. Her work can be seen at the Madison Artist's Guild Gallery, Daniel Field Airport, and other area venues.
